Creative but affordable design
We're an independent lifestyle design store in North Leeds, stocking unique home accessories and goods with personality, character and style, for all ages.
If you're fed up of the big high-street stores, or just bored of mass produced, souless design, we might just be the answer! We’re a friendly bunch and only too happy to help you find something that little bit different for an impressive gift or item for the home.
We're proud to be in Yorkshire too, so we believe in supporting independent local and UK designers and makers. It's little things like this which help to keep crafts and skills alive, while looking after the environment.
We also host craft workshops and creative parties, led by local artists and makers who's goodies can be found in the shop. These are held in our cool upstairs space above the store, with a mix of day, evening and weekend classes. Check out the Events page for more info.
We aim to be as accessible as possible but unfortunately there are some stairs up to the shop. However, we’re more than happy to help you in any way we can if you have accessibility issues, just get in touch and we can make sure we’ll do everything we can to help.
Our Story
I’m Jo and I’ve been the owner of Chirpy since 2016, though Chirpy has been in the heart of Chapel Allerton since 2012. We’re proud to be everyone’s favourite gift shop in Chapel Allerton! We’re also a proud supporter of the Just a Card campaign, supporting independent shops & makers to encourage people to shop local.
Chirpy continues to stock stylish and design led gifts, where possible made in the UK and often locally in Yorkshire. I’m always looking for new exciting designers to showcase and support and love collaborating with other local businesses through products launches, pop-up shops and events.
Online is also an important part of the Chirpy offer and we pride ourselves on bringing you the same Chirpy service when you receive your order through the post. We also love sending wrapping & presents on your behalf.
Upstairs at Chirpy we run a varied programme of arts and craft workshops which I’m always looking to expand with more courses as well as the one off workshops. I’m also use this space to host art exhibitions, where artists can showcase their work and hold ‘Meet the Artist’ events.

Creative Parties
Creative parties are held in our workshop space upstairs. It's the perfect relaxed environment for a hen do, baby shower, corporate event or birthday party with a difference.
Every Creative Party is led by a highly-skilled, local craftsperson. Parties can usually last between 2—3 hours & can take place on an evening, weekday or weekend.
We can tailor a party to your exact needs too — so get in touch & we'll start planning!
